‘£12m too small’ – Leicester won’t let Musa go to Saudi

A £12m bid for Nigerian forward Ahmed Musa from Saudi Arabian club, Al Nasr has been turned down by English Premier League side, Leicester City, according to reports.

There were reports last week that the Saudi Arabian side was ready to cough out a staggering £40m fee for Musa.

But it now appears to be untrue as recent reports claim that Leicester have informed Al Nasr that they wish to receive close to what they paid for Musa two years ago.

The Super Eagles star was bought for £16.6m from Russian topflight club CSKA Moscow in 2016, but appears to have little future at Leicester City having spent the second half of last season on loan at CSKA.

Since his debut with the Foxes, the 25-year-old has scored two goals in 21 Premier League appearances – having had just four appearances since the sacking of coach Claudio Ranieri in February, 2017.

Musa has been linked with numerous clubs including Galatasaray after an impressive World Cup campaign for the Super Eagles in the just-concluded Russia showpiece.

Leicester are not prepared to sell the attacker, who netted two goals in Russia making him the leading scorer for Nigeria at the FIFA World Cup, at cheap price.

Meanwhile, Musa has rejoined his teammates, including compatriots Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi, for Leicester preseason training.
