Family still expecting Ras Kimono’s autopsy result

The autopsy report of late reggae musician Ras Kimono popularly known as the rub-a-dub master is not out yet according to Theophilus Ehizibue, a member of the burial committee.

Theophilus made that much known on Tuesday at a press briefing staged at the National Stadium while announcing the official burial arrangements of Ras Kimono who passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018.

“We still do not know the actual cause of Kimono’s death because as I speak, we are still expecting the results of his autopsy but his death certificate has been signed,’’ Theophilus said when probed.

When asked how she felt when she first got wind about her father’s demise, Oge Kimono, first child, and daughter of the late musician said she received the message with utter shock.

“The news of my father’s passing away was met with utter shock because it was something that the family was not prepared for and it was really sad to receive such news at the time it broke,” she said.

Oge also added that she misses everything about her late dad and would like her father to be remembered as a jolly good fellow and a cheerful person to all that he came across during his lifetime.

The burial arrangements for Ras Kimono who was born and christened Austine Oseloke Onwubuya, will begin on August 17th with a wake-keep at his residence in Lagos and end with a thanksgiving service (a day after he is committed to mother earth) on the 26th at Onitsha Olona, Delta State, where the reggae icon hails from.
