Spanish Super Cup: Barca to battle Sevilla in Morocco

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has confirmed that the Spanish Super Cup between Sevilla and Barcelona will be played in Morocco.
A statement on the RFEF’s website explained the match will kick off 9:00pm (Nigeria time)at the Stade Ibn Batouta in Tangier on Sunday, 12 August.
The Super Cup – a tie between the La Liga winners and the Copa del Rey winners – has always been played over two legs – one at each club’s ground – until now.
It marks the first official game of the 2018-19 football season in Spain and will be contested between last term’s double winners Barca and Sevilla, who were runners-up to the Catalans in the Copa del Rey.
If a team wins the double in Spain, it meets the beaten cup finalists in the Super Cup rather than the league runners-up.
This will be Barcelona’s ninth time in the Super Cup in 10 seasons. They lost 5-1 on aggregate to Real Madrid last season.
The La Liga season begins after the Super Cup is played.
