In a bid to encourage high academic performance, the Federal University Lafia, Nasarawa State, has offered automatic employment to a physically challenged student, who emerged the best graduating student in the Department of Sociology. The gesture was also extended to seven first class graduates of the institution. The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Muhammad Sanusi-Liman, while presenting the letters of appointment to the graduates on Friday during a ceremony held at the Senate Hall of the institution, said that the gesture was in fulfillment of an earlier pledge made by the management. Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr. Williams Yaji, who emerged as first class in Economics, expressed gratitude to the management of the university, saying the move would inspire them to work harder in life. He said, “You have not only rewarded excellence and hard work but have successfully planted a seed of excellence which will surely reproduce a breed of innovative, integrity and excellent graduates in this university going forward.”
